The trading cards from the Big Huge Lab site could be used in a lot of different ways. In Language Arts, one way may be for the students to write about a character from a book, describing traits, actions, quotes. In Social Studies, the students could write about a famous historical figure. Also, I am thinking this would be a great beginning of the year activity for the kids to make a trading card about themselves.
I think the WordItOut site would be a good vocab building tool. One idea may be to give the kids a word and they brainstorm other words that are associated. Another may be for the students to put synonyms in their word out.
